Cleansing and exfoliating should be an essential in any modern man’s grooming routine. We tested out The Great British Grooming Co.’s Exfoliating Face Scrub to see how it fared against the competition.
The Great British Grooming Co. Exfoliating Face Scrub claims to help ‘freshen your skin, unblock your pores and control excess oil and shine.’ And having used it twice a week for a few weeks now, we’d say we’re relatively impressed the results – especially if you’re after some oil control.
Like most cleansers, TGBGC’s scrub should be used twice a week on a damp face, scrubbing with gentle circling motions. We should say from the off that The Great British Grooming Co. isn’t at the higher end of grooming products. But if you’re looking for value for money and noticeable results on oily skin, we’d certainly say it should be in consideration.
The feel isn’t as coarse as some other exfoliants around but we found the natural walnut shell did get rid of most dead skin cells and the volcanic ash did draw out pore-blocking grease. The product’s formula features black mint extract too, which also gives your skin a refreshed feeling after use.
Overall, we found The Great British Grooming Co. Exfoliating Face Scrub was very effective against oily skin and does leave your skin feeling fresh. We would have liked it to combat dry skin more, though.
